Mardi 15 juin, la Chine a envoyé près de trente appareils militaires de ses forces aériennes aux portes de Taïwan, archipel démocratique de 24 millions d’habitants qu’elle revendique. La manœuvre fait suite à une déclaration sans précédent des pays du G7 défendant la « stabilité dans le détroit de Taïwan ». Un affront pour Pékin, qui n’exclut pas d’utiliser un jour la force pour annexer l’archipel.
C’est un nouveau record depuis que le ministère de la Défense taïwanais rend public ce type de manœuvres. Vingt-huit appareils chinois, dont vingt avions de chasse, sont entrés, hier, mardi 15 juin, dans la zone d’identification de défense aérienne (ADIZ) taïwanaise.

La manœuvre intervient deux jours après la publication d’un communiqué historique des pays du G7, soulignant l’importance de « la paix » et de « la stabilité » dans le détroit de Taïwan. Une déclaration visiblement intolérable pour Pékin, qui ne cache pas son intention d’annexer un jour l’archipel et ses 24 millions d’habitants.
« Ingérence »
Lundi, le ministère chinois des Affaires étrangères a ainsi condamné la déclaration des sept puissances, dénonçant une « ingérence ». Ces incursions chinoises sont devenues quasi quotidiennes depuis la réélection d’une présidente fermement opposée à l’annexion chinoise, en janvier 2020.
Selon le gouvernement taïwanais, Pékin utilise cette tactique de « zone grise » pour intimider les citoyens taïwanais, mais aussi les soutiens de Taïwan au niveau international. Fait rare hier, plusieurs avions de patrouille ont aussi poursuivi leur chemin jusqu’à dépasser la côte est de Taïwan.
