Après un an d’absence, la 29ème édition du festival de jazz de Saint louis au Sénégal s’est déroulée sous les meilleurs auspices cette année. Organisé par l’institut français au mois de juin, le plus grand festival de musique jazz d’Afrique s’est achevé sur un concert de Missal.
Le groupe mythique sénégalais, a interprété quelques-uns de ses titres les plus emblématiques à l’occasion de la dernière soirée du festival. Ousmane Wade et Racine Ly, ont représenté le groupe des années 90, issu de la patte d’oie un quartier de Dakar la capitale sénégalaise.
Le musicien et chanteur malien Vieux Farka Touré s’est également produit sur scène. Tout comme la star sénégalaise Baaba Maal accompagnée de sa fameuse guitare.
Saint-Louis jazz festival, c’était deux jours de rythmes africains funk gospel et blues dans les rues de la ville. Cette année les amateurs de musique ont pu profité de la puissante voix d’Awa Ly. La chanteuse française d’origine sénégalais a interprété des titres de son dernier album « Safe and Sound » sorti en 2020.
Fondé en 1993, le festival de jazz de Saint-Louis attire les fans de toute l’Afrique de l’ouest et d’Europe.
