« Ce matin, une base opérationnelle temporaire de la Force de la Minusma près du village d’Ichagara, dans la commune de Tarkint, région de Gao, a été la cible d’une attaque au véhicule piégé », a rapporté la Minusma sur Twitter.

« Quinze Casques bleus ont été blessés, leur évacuation est en cours », a-t-elle ajouté sans fournir plus de précision dans un premier temps sur les circonstances de l’opération ni sur la nationalité des Casques bleus touchés. Selon Wassim Nasr, journaliste spécialistes des mouvements jihadistes à France 24, les blessés, dont certains se trouvent dans un état grave, ont été évacués vers la base de Gao.

Il s’agit de Casques bleus allemands, a confié à l’AFP un membre de la commission de la Défense du Parlement allemand sous couvert de l’anonymat. Douze sont gravement touchés, a-t-il précisé.
La Minusma avait établi cette base temporaire depuis jeudi, le temps de sécuriser une opération de remorquage d’un véhicule de la mission, a indiqué une source sécuritaire internationale.
Le véhicule à remorquer avait été endommagé par l’explosion d’un engin artisanal. Le dispositif avait explosé au passage d’un convoi de la Minusma qui escortait le déploiement d’un bataillon dit « reconstitué » de l’armée malienne, c’est-à-dire intégrant d’anciens rebelles ayant combattu les forces régulières dans le Nord avant la signature d’un accord de paix en 2015.

Les indépendantistes ont signé un accord de paix en 2015. Mais le Mali reste en proie aux agissements des groupes liés à Al-Qaïda et à l’organisation État islamique, aux violences intercommunautaires et aux trafics en tous genres. Les violences se sont propagées au Burkina et au Niger voisins.
La Minusma est régulièrement la cible d’attaques, comme les forces maliennes et françaises. C’est la mission la plus meurtrière pour l’ONU dans le monde.
