Annonces et engagements, voici quelques temps forts de la cérémonie d’ouverture à Paris, suivie par Terriennes.

40 milliards de dollars pour l’égalité
Le Forum a lancé un Plan d’accélération mondial pour l’égalité des genres, dirigé par six coalitions d’action, ainsi qu’un Pacte sur les femmes, la paix et la sécurité et l’action humanitaire, dans le but d’accélérer l’égalité des sexes au cours des cinq prochaines années et de faire face aux risques croissants pour les droits des femmes causés par la Covid-19. Les 40 milliards de dollars de nouveaux investissements prévus par le Forum représenteront la plus importante injection collective de ressources dans l’égalité mondiale des genres.
Parmi les annonces faites au cours de cette journée, la France annonce de nouveaux fonds au Partenariat mondial pour l’éducation (PME) dont elle est devenue l’un des principaux bailleurs. Aux 200 millions d’euros sur la période 2018-2021 s’ajouteront 330 millions pour la période 2021-2025, dont la moitié sera orientée vers l’éducation des filles.
Avec pour ambition de répondre aux conséquences de la pandémie sur l’éducation et sur l’autonomisation économique des femmes, plusieurs engagements sont donc pris. La Banque mondiale s’engage à atteindre 10 milliards de dollars de financements en faveur de l’émancipation des femmes et des jeunes filles en Afrique subsaharienne à l’horizon 2023. « Les projets concernés pourront être des projets spécifiquement dédiés au genre ou des projets dans lesquels le genre apparaît de manière transversale dans les différentes composantes », précise le communiqué. La Banque centrale promet aussi de lancer de nouveaux projets dans au moins 12 pays d’Afrique subsaharienne.
Des contributions importantes ont été apportées par les Etats participants et par les fondations de la société civile. Par exemple, la Finlande s’est engagée à verser 80 millions sur des programmes pour l’accès aux nouvelles technologies pour les femmes. L’Allemagne n’est pas en reste : 50 millions iront à l’entrepreneuriat des femmes à travers le fonds WeFi de la Banque mondiale et l’accès à la terre. Aux Etats-Unis, plus d’un milliard sera consacré à des programmes de promotion de l’égalité de genre l’année prochaine et 12 milliards sur cinq ans seront dédiés à l’entrepreneuriat féminin.

Le plus gros chèque est signé par la Fondation Gates, l’une des plus importantes contributrices à la tenue de ce forum avec 2 milliards de dollars, dont 1,4 milliard sera consacré aux droits et santé sexuels et reproductifs, 600 millions iront à des projets d’autonomisation économique des femmes. D’autres fondations, telles que Kering for Women, ont aussi pris des engagements pour soutenir des projets d’action de lutte contre les inégalités femmes-hommes.
Lutter contre les violences sexuelles pendant les conflits
Le Forum a confirmé son soutien au Fonds mondial pour les survivant.e.s de violences sexuelles liées aux conflits lancé en octobre 2019, cofondé par Nadia Murad et le Dr Denis Mukwege (prix Nobel de la Paix). Plusieurs projets sont mis en œuvre en République démocratique du Congo, en Guinée et en Irak, pour mettre en place des mesures de réparation individuelles et collectives pour les victimes et créer des fonds dédiés aux urgences médicales. 100 femmes en Guinée et 1000 en RDC devraient en bénéficier. La France soutient ce fonds à hauteur de 6 millions d’euros.
