Depuis le début de l’année 2021 (jusqu’au 10 juillet), les recettes touristiques cumulées de la Tunisie ont atteint environ 874 millions de dinars (un dinar vaut 0,35 dollar), soit une baisse de 25,3%, par rapport à la même période de 2020, d’après des statistiques monétaires et financières, publiées mercredi par la Banque centrale tunisienne (BCT). Dans ce pays méditerranéen, le secteur touristique représente une part importante dans l’économie puisqu’il participe à quelque 14% du PIB et cumule plus de 100 000 emplois directs et 290 000 emplois indirects.
D’après la BCT, durant la même période, les services de la dette extérieure cumulée ont également baissé d’environ 30% pour se situer à 3.758 millions de dinars.
Toutefois, les revenus du travail cumulés ont augmenté de 27% pour atteindre 3.435 millions de dinars alors que le volume global de refinancement est situé à 10,1 milliards de dinars, soit une baisse de 2% par rapport à la même période de l’année 2020.
Pour rappel, la Tunisie passe actuellement par une nouvelle vague de propagation du nouveau coronavirus avec une moyenne de 500 cas de contamination pour 100 000 habitants dans pratiquement la moitié des 24 provinces du pays. Une situation qui a conduit au limogeage, il y deux jours, du ministre de la Sané, Faouzi Mehdi.
