La République du Congo a déjà administré un total de 286.959 doses de vaccins contre le coronavirus. Cette déclaré a été samedi par le ministre congolais de la Santé et de la Population Ignace Tendelet. Selon le ministre, ce chiffre montre « combien le chemin à parcourir est encore long pour espérer atteindre l’immunité collective ».
Lors du lancement d’une campagne de sensibilisation à la lutte contre la COVID-19 à Brazzaville, Ignace Tendelet a souligné que parmi les freins à l’atteinte de l’immunité collective figure la réticence de la population à se faire vacciner. Notons que, cette campagne de sensibilisation concerne les capitales des six pays de la Communauté économique et monétaire de l’Afrique centrale (CEMAC), à savoir le Cameroun, le Gabon, le Tchad, la Guinée équatoriale, la République centrafricaine (RCA) et la République du Congo. Pour rappel, à ce jour, le Congo totalise 13.533 cas confirmés de COVID-19, dont 183 décès depuis l’enregistrement du premier cas positif le 14 mars 2020.
