Un homme de 30 ans, Wallen Undi, a été arrêté pour le meurtre brutal de son père et de sa mère dans le district de Lilongwe, au Malawi.
Le porte-parole de la police de Lilongwe, Inspecteur Hastings Chingalu, qui a confirmé l’incident dans un communiqué, a déclaré que le suspect avait tué ses parents pour une raison inconnue au village de Malimbwe (région de Chitedze), autorité traditionnelle Malili à Lilongwe le dimanche 19 décembre 2021. Les parents tués ont été identifiés comme étant Williams Lester Undi, 72 ans, et Molly Undi, 68 ans.
Il a été établi que dimanche après-midi, les parents étaient à la maison avec le suspect après que le frère aîné Wiza, âgé de 32 ans, soit parti soit sorti pour une promenade. A son retour vers 19h00, Wiza qui a signalé l’incident à la police, a trouvé les portes de leur maison fermées. Il a juste décidé de partir.
Cependant, lors de son deuxième retour à la maison vers 20h00, Wiza a trouvé la maison toujours fermée à clé. Il frappa aux portes mais il n’y eut aucune réponse. Wiza, décide alors d’aller passer une nuit chez l’un de leurs proches.
De retour à la maison ce lundi matin 20 décembre 2021, Wiza a découvert ses parents étendus dans une mare de sang. Ils avaient été massacrés à mort.
Selon l’inspecteur Chigalu Wallen, le suspect dont on pense qu’il a une maladie mentale, a été retrouvé et arrêté par la police juste dans la maison alors qu’il se cachait dans l’une des pièces.
Pendant ce temps, les deux corps sont maintenant à la morgue de l’hôpital central de Kamuzu en attendant l’autopsie.
