L’ancien Premier ministre français François Fillon a rejoint le conseil d’administration du géant russe de la pétrochimie Sibur, a annoncé le groupe jeudi.
La société Sibur a publié une liste actualisée de son conseil d’administration, indiquant que M. Fillon a été nommé au conseil en tant qu’administrateur indépendant.
Le groupe est notamment contrôlé par Leonid Mikhelson, l’un des hommes les plus riches de Russie, et Guennadi Timchenko, un proche du président Vladimir Poutine.
Fin juin, il avait rejoint le conseil d’administration d’une autre société russe, Zaroubejneft, spécialisée dans le développement et l’exploitation des gisements d’hydrocarbures notamment à l’étranger, détenue par l’État.
M. Fillon, qui a dirigé le gouvernement français sous la présidence de Nicolas Sarkozy entre 2007 et 2012, est à la tête d’Apteras, un cabinet de conseil qu’il a créé en 2017.
L’ancien homme politique a été condamné en juin 2020 à cinq ans de prison dont deux ferme dans une retentissante affaire d’emplois fictifs qui avait fait dérailler sa campagne présidentielle en 2017.
D’autres anciens hauts responsables étrangers font déjà partie du conseil d’administration de groupes pétroliers russes.
L’ex-cheffe de la diplomatie autrichienne Karin Kneissl, qui avait dansé une valse avec Vladimir Poutine lors de son mariage en 2018, a été nommée en juin au géant pétrolier russe Rosneft. L’ancien chancelier allemand Gerhard Schröder, un ami de longue date de Vladimir Poutine, est président du Conseil d’administration de Rosneft.
