Qualifié à une phase finale de Coupe d’Afrique pour la troisièmes fois de son histoire, le Malawi n’a pas raté son début de préparation à la CAN 2021. En match amical tenu ce vendredi à Djeddah, en Arabie Saoudite, les Flames se sont imposés par 2 à 1 face aux Comores, qui disputera sa première CAN.
Les joueurs de Meke Mwase ont fait la différence en première période grâce à des buts des attaquants Gabadinho Mhango (25e) et Khuda Muyaba (39e), alors que Faiz Selemani (43e, s.p) avait réduit l’écart pour les Cœlacanthes. Avant d’affronter les Lions du Sénégal lors de la dernière journée de la phase de groupes de la CAN 2021, le Malawi fera face à la Guinée puis le Zimbabwe.
