Face au raz-de-marée Omicron, la France vient de placer les États-Unis sur sa liste rouge des pays (sur une échelle allant de «vert» à «écarlate» en passant par «orange» et «rouge»). L’arrêté en date du 31 décembre a été publié ce samedi au Journal officiel.
Concrètement, cela ne changera rien pour les voyageurs vaccinés en provenance des États-Unis : ils devront simplement être munis d’un test négatif (PCR ou antigénique) de moins de 48 heures avant d’embarquer pour la France. Mais les passagers non-vaccinés seront, eux, soumis à compter du 2 janvier à une quarantaine de dix jours contrôlée par les autorités, au lieu des sept jours d’isolement (sans vérification) suivis d’un test qui étaient jusqu’alors en vigueur. Le pays était auparavant classé «orange» par le Quai d’Orsay. La République démocratique du Congo et la Tanzanie subissent le même sort.
Les États-Unis ont recensé plus de 5,75 millions de cas positifs au Covid-19 sur les 28 derniers jours, selon les chiffres de l’Université Johns Hopkins. Il s’agit du pays le plus touché par la pandémie, devant le Royaume-Uni et la France, avec respectivement 2,57 et 2,15 millions de contaminations enregistrées sur les quatre dernières semaines.
