La CEDEAO a décrété, dimanche, la fermeture des frontières avec le Mali et un embargo commercial et financier, sanctionnant durement le projet de la junte de continuer à diriger le pays pendant plusieurs années.
Mais, un texte du Conseil de sécurité de l’ONU, soutenant les sanctions de la CEDEAO proposé par la France, a été bloqué hier par la Russie et la Chine, rapporte le quotidien EnQuête.
Si la pression est maximale sur la junte, c’est le peuple malien qui va en souffrir en premier, défendent la Russie et la Chine qui plaident la non-ingérence au Mali.
Selon le représentant de la Russie, Vassily Nebenza, il serait irresponsable, dans les circonstances actuelles, de laisser ce pays s’en remettre à son destin, notamment pour ce qui est de réduire l’aide militaire et socioéconomique.
Selon ces deux puissances, l’imposition de sanctions contre le Mali pourrait encore faire dégénérer la situation pour la population civile, justifie la Russie.
