Des pièces de théâtres, des expositions, des colloques… Cette année 2022 sera rythmée par les hommages à Molière, dont la France célèbre les 400 ans.
L’année anniversaire de Molière démarre samedi 15 janvier en France, mais aussi dans d’autres pays, pour célébrer les 400 ans du plus connu et du plus populaire des dramaturges français.
Les célébrations auront lieu notamment dans les hauts lieux qui ont marqué sa carrière de directeur de troupe et de dramaturge, mais surtout dans sa « maison », la Comédie-Française, née sept ans après sa mort dans la continuité de sa troupe.
Baptisé le 15 janvier 1622, Molière, de son vrai nom Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, est un auteur si emblématique que l’acteur Francis Huster se bat depuis des années pour qu’il entre au Panthéon.
Une idée défendue récemment par la candidate LR à la présidentielle Valérie Pécresse, qui a décrit le dramaturge du XVIIe siècle comme « le plus grand génie du théâtre français ». Mais l’Élysée a écarté une telle éventualité, estimant dans un communiqué transmis à l’AFP que toutes les figures panthéonisées « sont postérieures aux Lumières et à la Révolution ».
La Comédie-Française au cœur des festivités
La Comédie-Française va jouer exclusivement des pièces de Molières jusqu’en juillet, à commencer dès samedi par « Tartuffe ou l’Hypocrite », la version originelle et censurée de la célèbre pièce sur le faux dévot.
Comme chaque 15 janvier, un hommage sera rendu à Molière à la Comédie-Française : un buste du dramaturge est posé solennellement sur scène, toute la troupe rassemblée le salue et chacun récite une réplique de ses pièces.
Cette cérémonie, précédée de Tartuffe, sera diffusée en direct dans les cinémas, où seront retransmis dans les mois à venir « Le Malade imaginaire », « L’Avare » et « Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme ».
Des hommages internationaux
À Versailles, où Molière avait pour protecteur le roi Louis XIV et devant lequel il a créé certaines de ses emblématiques pièces, plusieurs vont être reprises dans leur forme originale : les « comédies-ballets », créées en complicité avec le compositeur Lully.
Dans la ville, qui organise chaque été « Le Mois Molière », une statue signée de l’artiste Xavier Veilhan sera érigée en mai et une exposition, « Molière, la fabrique d’une gloire nationale » ouvrira ses portes à partir de samedi.
Une autre statue sera dévoilée samedi, cette fois-ci à Pézenas (Hérault) entre Béziers et Montpellier, où Molière a séjourné à plusieurs reprises au début de sa carrière. Le centre historique sera rythmé par des extraits de ses comédies ou des évocations de sa vie et un timbre Molière sera mis en vente en avant-première.
De nombreux colloques, activités et célébrations lui seront consacrés en France et à travers le monde, notamment à l’université américaine de Yale, à la Università degli Studi di Torino (Turin), ou encore en Suisse et en Belgique.
