Des munitions de guerre ont été saisies par les autorités sénégalaises, lors d’une opération de contrôle d’un navire battant pavillon guyanais, avec à son bord quatre membres d’équipage, des Ukrainiens.
Coup de filet de la douane sénégalaise qui, dans un communiqué rendu public, ce mardi 18 janvier, révèle que des munitions de guerre ont été saisies au cours d’une opération de contrôle d’un navire battant pavillon guyanais. Le bateau, qui a déclaré être en ravitaillement au port de Dakar, au Sénégal, avait à son bord quatre membres d’équipage, qui se trouvent être des Ukrainiens.
« Alertés par l’absence de documents fiables de navigation et de transport maritime mais surtout par les incohérences des déclarations du Capitaine du navire, les agents de la Subdivision maritime des Douanes, notamment ceux de la Brigade portuaire, ont décidé de procéder à la fouille et au contrôle de la cargaison », indique le communiqué de la douane sénégalaise.
« L’opération a permis la découverte de trois conteneurs remplis de divers types de munitions. La valeur totale des cartouches ainsi saisies est estimée à plus de trois milliards de francs CFA sur le marché intérieur », poursuit le communiqué, précisant que les membres d’équipage sont en cours d’audition et qu’une enquête approfondie est ouverte.
Pour le moment, aucune indication n’a été donnée par les autorités sénégalaises sur le pays de départ du navire et sa destination, puisque le bateau était censé être de passage à Dakar pour des besoins de ravitaillement. La date de la saisie de cette cargaison de munitions de guerre n’a en outre pas été communiquée.
