Les Maliens ont appelé le chanteur sénégalais Youssou Ndour à intercéder auprès de la CEDEAO, afin que les sanctions économiques et financières infligées à leur pays soient levées.
L’occasion de la sortie de l’artiste sénégalais Youssou Ndour, qui a tenu à rendre un vibrant hommage à l’ex-chef d’Etat du Mali, Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, décédé le 16 janvier à Bamako, a été saisie par certains internautes maliens pour solliciter le roi du mbalakh, afin qu’il joue de son influence pour obtenir un allègement ou une levée pure et simple des sanctions infligées par la CEDEAO (Communauté Economique des Etats de l’Afrique de l’Ouest) contre leur pays.
Président du Mali du 4 septembre 2013 au 18 août 2020, avant d’être renversé par un coup d’État militaire, Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta alias « IBK » avait élevé Youssou Ndour au rang de Commandeur de l’ordre national du Mali. Après une longue maladie et déchue de son pouvoir depuis plus d’un an, l’ancien Président malien Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta, a finalement rejoint ses compatriotes le Général Moussa Traoré « GMT », Amadou Toumani Touré « ATT » ou encore Soumaïla Cissé « Soumi champion ».
Le décès est survenu dimanche à sa résidence à Sébénikoro, un quartier de Bamako. Sur les réseaux sociaux, beaucoup de personnalités ont tenu à lui rendre un hommage, à l’image de l’artiste sénégalais Youssou Ndour, de l’ex-chef d’Etat français François Hollande, de l’ancien Premier ministre français, Manuel Valls, entre autres. « Repose en paix IBK. Mes condoléances les plus attristées à sa famille. Son humanisme m’a marqué », a écrit Youssou Ndour. Un message qui a été largement commenté, liké et partagé.
Il faut dire que Youssou Ndour est très attaché à ce pays, qu’il considère comme le sien. D’ailleurs, dans plusieurs de ses chansons, il évoque le Mali, pays pour lequel le chanteur a énormément d’affection. Normal que certains internautes profitent de cette sortie de Youssou Ndour, pour l’interpeller sur les sanctions de la Communauté économique des États de l’Afrique de l’Ouest. Lesquelles sanctions ont d’ailleurs été dénoncées par d’autres artistes, à l’image de Tiken Jah Fakoly, Alpha Blondy, Oumou Sangaré, Sidiki Diabaté, Iba One ou encore Salif Keïta.
