Une scène dramatique s’est déroulée dans le comté de Trans Nzoia au Kenya le mercredi 26 janvier, lorsqu’un homme accusé d’avoir volé du bétail a commencé à marcher comme un bœuf et à manger de l’herbe le long de l’autoroute Kitale-Eldoret.
Peter Wafula, un témoin, a déclaré à K24 Digital que l’homme était soupçonné d’être membre d’un gang criminel qui volait du bétail et cambriolait des magasins à Trans Nzoia. Wafula a noté que l’incident s’est produit deux semaines après qu’un fermier de la région de Shimo la Tewa a perdu son taureau. Les voleurs l’ont abattu dans une forêt voisine. Il a affirmé que le fermier avait promis de donner une leçon aux voleurs.
Le témoin oculaire a dit : «Le fermier était tellement en colère qu’il a promis de donner aux coupables une leçon de vie. Cela pourrait être l’une des leçons promises »
Simon Maingi, un autre témoin, a affirmé qu’au moment de l’incident, l’accusé ne pouvait pas parler et que leurs efforts pour l’empêcher de manger de l’herbe n’ont porté aucun fruit.
Maingi a dit: «Nous avons été choqués de le voir marcher comme un bœuf et le pire, c’est qu’il mangeait de l’herbe. Nous avons essayé de lui parler mais l’homme était incapable de parler »
Le témoin oculaire a en outre révélé que l’accusé se dirigeait vers la direction où le taureau aurait été abattu, un mouvement qui, selon lui, l’a lié au vol précédent que le fermier a subi.
