Italie : Sergio Mattarella décroche un second mandat à l’âge de 80 ans

Le président italien avait indiqué qu’il ne le souhaitait pas, mais depuis le début de la semaine, le Parlement n’arrivant pas à se mettre d’accord sur un autre nom, les grands électeurs ont fini par demander à Sergio Mattarella d’effectuer un second mandat, dont il avait accepté le principe.

Sergio Mattarella, 80 ans, a recueilli la majorité absolue de 505 suffrages sur 1 009 sénateurs, députés et responsables régionaux. Le dépouillement des bulletins de vote se poursuivait dans l’hémicycle de la Chambre des députés à Rome et le décompte final du scrutin devait être connu avant 21 h (heure locale).
