Le Rwanda a rouvert, ce lundi 31 janvier, son poste-frontière de Gatuna, avec l’Ouganda. Cette réouverture s’inscrit dans le cadre du réchauffement diplomatique entre les Etats.
C’est un nouveau départ dans le réchauffement diplomatique entre le Rwanda et l’Ouganda. Le principal poste-frontière de Gatuna a été officiellement rouvert, à minuit, par les autorités rwandaises. La réouverture de ce poste frontière intervient après l’échange entre le Président rwandais Paul Kagame, et le commandant des forces terrestres ougandaises, Muhoozi Kainerugaba. Fermé en février 2019, le ministère rwandais des Affaires étrangères a annoncé, le 28 janvier dernier, la réouverture du principal poste-frontière avec son voisin, en vue de contribuer « positivement à la normalisation rapide des relations entre les deux pays ».
Selon Rwanda broadcasting agency, après la réouverture de ce poste-frontière, le porte-parole du gouvernement rwandais a appelé « à la prudence étant donné que les problèmes ne sont pas totalement résolus bien que cette réouverture soit un pas important vers une bonne direction ». Ce lundi matin, les services d’immigrations rwandais et ougandais se sont rencontrés à ce poste-frontière pour un échange sur les nouvelles orientations, ajoute la même source.
