Une opération menée par des unités de la marine colombienne contre le trafic de drogue sur la côte de Nariño a conduit à la saisie d’un sous-marin naviguant dans les eaux colombiennes et transportant quatre tonnes de cocaïne. Le sous-marin se dirigeait vers les côtes d’Amérique centrale.
La plus importante saisie effectuée par la force navale du Pacifique au cours des deux dernières années, retire du marché 10 millions de doses de cocaïne.
Au moment de l’inspection de l’embarcation navale de 15 mètres de long, 200 sacs contenant 4000 paquets rectangulaires ont été découverts. Peu après, des membres du Corps d’enquête technique du bureau du procureur général ont effectué un test d’identification préliminaire, qui s’est révélé positif pour le chlorhydrate de cocaïne.
Trois ressortissants colombiens et un étranger ont été arrêtés.
