Des hommes armés non encore identifiés ont ouvert le feu sur sa voiture qui circulait dans Tripoli, la capitale de ce pays d’Afrique du Nord.
« Dbeibah a fait l’objet d’une tentative d’assassinat à Tripoli, où sa voiture a été la cible d’un déluge de balles qui le visaient directement », a, selon la chaîne Libya Al-Ahrar, indiqué une source gouvernementale qui a requis l’anonymat. Pour l’heure, aucune déclaration officielle sur la tentative d’assassinat du Premier ministre.
Cette tentative d’assassinat intervient au lendemain de la sortie du chef du gouvernement libyen, qui avait des mises en garde. Outre le fait d’avoir clairement indiqué que son gouvernement n’autorisera pas une nouvelle phase de transition, Abdel Hamid Dbeibah avait en effet signifié à la classe politique dominante de ces dernières années que son exercice ne va pas se prolonger pour autant.
