Virginia Giuffre avait porté plainte en août dernier contre le prince Andrew, l’accusant de l’avoir contrainte, il y a plus de vingt ans, à une relation sexuelle au domicile londonien de Ghislaine Maxwell, ex-associée de Jeffrey Epstein, puis de l’avoir agressée sexuellement à deux reprises dans des résidences d’Epstein.
Les avocats des deux parties ont indiqué, dans le document, qu’un accord financier avait été trouvé – sans en dévoiler le montant.
Le prince Andrew « n’a jamais eu l’intention de porter atteinte à la personne morale de madame Giuffre et il reconnaît les souffrances qu’elle a vécues à la fois en tant que victime d’abus et d’attaques publiques », est-il écrit dans le document.
« Le prince Andrew regrette sa relation avec Jeffrey Epstein et loue le courage de madame Giuffre et des autres survivantes. Il s’engage à prouver ses remords en soutenant le combat contre le trafic sexuel et ses victimes », est-il encore précisé.
Une porte-parole du prince Andrew a déclaré ne pas avoir de commentaire à ajouter. Le palais de Buckingham s’est abstenu de tout commentaire.
