C’est accompagné des ambassadeurs d’Italie et de Grande-Bretagne qu’ils ont porté leurs recommandations au ministre en charge de l’environnement, Hélé Pierre.
Il s’agit de la présentation des activités à mener pour lutter contre le changement climatique. Des recommandations faites par les jeunes de l’Association pour une Afrique durable en collaboration avec celle du Youth4Climate.
Dans le document présenté au ministre Hélé Pierre chargé de la protection de la nature, les jeunes proposent une multiplication et facilitation des accès aux emplois verts. Il s’agit là des métiers liés à l’environnement ou encore à l’écologie.
A côté de cela, il est également souligné le verdissement du plan national d’urbanisation. Il inclut réduire les espaces couverts par de l’asphalte et du béton. Ensuite, augmenter la quantité de végétaux (arbres, gazon et plantes). Sans oublier, une amélioration de la gestion des ressources.
Des propositions qui suivent les initiatives prises par le Cameroun à la Cop26 de Glasgow. Lors de cette conférence, le pays a signé des engagements relatifs à la protection des forêts, des terres et celles contre le déboisement de la forêt.

Cette action du Youth4Climate a largement été saluée par Hélé Pierre. Il n’a pas manqué de tarir d’éloges la participation des jeunes au combat contre le changement climatique. « Nous allons exploiter rationnellement le document et faire ce qui est à faire de notre côté », a indiqué le ministre.
Pour le porte-parole de ces jeunes, Blondel Silenou, l’objectif est que ces propositions soient prises en compte dans le développement des politiques publiques. « Il est question pour nous de mener un lobbying auprès de nos dirigeants africains afin qu’ils puissent porter et faire entendre la voix des jeunes».
Par ailleurs, l’association a profité de l’occasion pour introduire son plaidoyer visant à un soutien du gouvernement. « Dans le cadre de la mise en œuvre, de nos activités, nous avons besoin de 10 millions de FCFA pour éduquer et sensibiliser plus de 200 000 jeunes sur toute l’étendue du territoire national », explique sa fondatrice, Hilary Ngouabo Dassi.
Cette rencontre au ministère de l’Environnement, du développement durable et de la protection de la nature a également connu la participation de deux diplomates. Il s’agit de l’ambassadeur d’Italie, Filippo Scammacca Del Murgo et celui de la Grande-Bretagne, Christian Dennys McClure. Une manière pour eux de soutenir ces jeunes.
