Un marin ukrainien accusé d’avoir tenté de couler un yacht de luxe de 8 millions de dollars appartenant à son patron russe a déclaré qu’il l’avait fait pour se venger de l’invasion russe de l’Ukraine et qu’il n’avait aucun regret, a rapporté dimanche le journal Ultima Hora.
Le marin, identifié dans les documents judiciaires comme étant D. Taras O., âgé de 55 ans, avait travaillé sur le yacht en tant qu’ingénieur pendant 10 ans, a rapporté Ultima Hora.
Après avoir visionné samedi une vidéo d’une attaque par hélicoptère russe contre un bâtiment civil à Kiev, la capitale ukrainienne, le marin a déclaré qu’il avait décidé de se « venger » en tentant de couler le yacht, selon des documents judiciaires cités dans Ultima Hora.
Le bateau, nommé Lady Anastasia, était ancré à Port Adriano, un port de super-yachts à Majorque, en Espagne. Il appartenait à Alexander Mijeev, PDG de Rosoboronexport, une importante société d’armement militaire russe, a rapporté Ultima Hora.
La société mère de Rosoboronexport est Rostec, le plus grand conglomérat de défense de Russie fondé par le président russe Vladimir Poutine en 2007. Il n’est pas clair si Rosoboronexport ou Rostec ont joué un rôle dans la récente invasion. Rostec a été sanctionné par le Royaume-Uni et les États-Unis la semaine dernière.
Pour couler le bateau, le marin a déclaré avoir ouvert une vanne dans la salle des machines et une autre dans les quartiers de l’équipage, a rapporté Ultima Hora, citant des documents judiciaires.
Il a ensuite dit à trois autres membres d’équipage, également Ukrainiens, d’abandonner le navire, a rapporté Ultima Hora. Le yacht s’est retrouvé avec une salle des machines détruite et le marin s’est ensuite rendu aux forces de l’ordre, selon le rapport.
Lors de son arrestation, il a déclaré aux autorités espagnoles : « Le propriétaire de ce navire est un criminel qui gagne sa vie en vendant des armes et maintenant ils tuent des Ukrainiens ».
Dans une déclaration au tribunal, citée par Ultima Hora, le marin a déclaré qu’il ne regrettait rien et qu’il le referait. Il a également déclaré qu’il voulait causer « uniquement des dommages matériels, pas des dommages personnels ».
Le marin a été inculpé mais a été placé sous contrôle judiciaire par le juge, a rapporté Ultima Hora. Les charges exactes retenues contre lui ne sont encore définies.
