La Russie voudrait faire de l’ancien président ukrainien Viktor Ianoukovitch, évincé lors des manifestations anti-gouvernementales en 2013-2014, le nouveau dirigeant de l’Ukraine.
Selon un journal ukrainien, l’Ukrayinska Pravda, les services de renseignement ukrainiens ont découvert que la Russie voudrait Ianoukovitch comme dirigeant de l’Ukraine s’ils réussissent à renverser le régime de l’actuel dirigeant ukrainien, Volodimir Zelensky, qui est pro-occidental.
Ianoukovitch, qui vit à Minsk, en Biélorussie, s’est enfui en Russie en 2014 après le renversement de son gouvernement en Ukraine en raison de sa position pro-russe alors qu’il était au pouvoir. Le rapport ajoute que le Kremlin pourrait préparer une opération médiatique ou une campagne pour ramener Ianoukovitch en Ukraine, ou publier un discours de sa part au peuple ukrainien.
En janvier, le Royaume-Uni a déclaré que Moscou complotait pour installer une personnalité pro-Moscou à la tête du gouvernement ukrainien et le ministère britannique des Affaires étrangères a nommé l’ancien député ukrainien Yevhen Murayev comme candidat potentiel du Kremlin.
