Le président de transition au Burkina Faso, le lieutenant-colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba, a nommé Albert Ouédraogo, économiste de formation, au poste de Premier ministre, jeudi. Il sera à la tête d’un gouvernement de 25 membres.
L’adoption d’une charte de la transition au Burkina Faso prévoyait la formation d’un gouvernement dirigé par un Premier ministre civil. Il a désormais un nom : Albert Ouédraogo. Cet universitaire de 53 ans est à la tête d’un cabinet de conseils et d’audit des entreprises depuis 2007.
« Le président de transition (….) décrète : Monsieur Albert Ouédraogo est nommé Premier ministre », rapporte un décret signé par le président de transition, le lieutenant-colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba, jeudi 3 mars, dont la copie a été transmise à l’AFP.
Économiste de formation, « le nouveau Premier ministre dispose d’une solide expérience dans le domaine du management des administrations publiques, des projets de développement ainsi que des entreprises privées », selon la présidence. « Il a conduit plusieurs missions d’études sur le développement du secteur privé (…) et des audits organisationnels et d’élaboration de manuels de procédures. »
La transition se met en place
Le 1er mars, le lieutenant-colonel Damiba a signé une Charte de la transition prévoyant une période de trois ans avant des élections et la formation d’un gouvernement de 25 membres.
Le chef de l’État a ordonné un audit général du secteur public, une mesure visant à insuffler la bonne gouvernance dans l’administration.
Fin janvier, le lieutenant-colonel Damiba avait pris le pouvoir après deux jours de mutineries dans plusieurs casernes du pays, renversant le président élu Roch Marc Christian Kaboré qui n’a pas réussi à endiguer la violence jihadiste.
