Alors que les groupes TF1 et M6, Altice Media est à l’affût pour récupérer les chaînes TFX et 6Ter. Des négociations exclusives sont en cours.
TF1 et M6 sont engagés dans un projet de fusion et cela fait les affaires d’Altice Media. Le groupe de Patrick Drahi (BFM, RMC…) a annoncé en début de semaine qu’il était entré en négociations exclusives avec les deux groupes pour reprendre TFX et 6ter. La maison-mère de SFR voit la possibilité de renforcer sa position sur la TNT ; en récupérant la chaine du canal 11 du groupe TF1 et la chaîne numéro 22 de M6.
L’annonce est également une bonne nouvelle pour TF1 et M6. En effet, les deux entités doivent se conformer à la réglementation française au « dispositif anti-concentration », prévu par la loi n°86-1067. Avant sa fusion avec la Hadopi pour donner naissance à l’Arcom, le CSA avait tenu à rappeler à TF1 et M6 qu’ils devaient céder trois des dix chaînes qu’ils possèdent à eux deux. Pour mener à bien leur projet de fusion, le duo ne peut détenir plus de sept chaînes.
« La cession de TFX s’inscrirait dans le cadre du projet de fusion des groupes TF1 et M6 […] Elle contribuerait à ce que le groupe combiné, conformément à la législation, n’édite pas davantage que sept chaînes nationales sur la TNT », confirme TF1 dans un communiqué. Même discours chez M6 pour la chaîne 6ter, qui évoque aussi la situation de Paris Première.
Pour se conformer à la loi audiovisuelle, le groupe dirigé par Nicolas de Tavernost précise qu’il « envisage de restituer la fréquence TNT de la chaîne Paris Première ». L’approbation par l’Arcom est attendu et ne concerne pas les réseaux câbles et satellites. Avec cette décision, le futur groupe se limiterait bien à sept chaînes sur la télévision numériques terrestre (TNT).
Que fera Altice des chaînes 6ter et TFX ?
Le montant des cessions n’est pas évoqué dans les communiqués, mais l’AFP indique qu’Altice débourserait « aux alentours de 130 à 150 millions d’euros » pour les deux chaînes. L’acquisition va surtout à Altice de se positionner comme le principal challenger du futur géant français. « Cette opération contribue à la dynamique concurrentielle du paysage audiovisuel français en renforçant un acteur établi, déjà présent dans la télévision avec 3 chaînes nationales sur la TNT, ainsi que dans la radio et le digital », assure le groupe TF1. Néanmoins, ces décisions participent à la crainte d’une concentration du paysage audiovisuel français.
En cas de fusion entre TF1 et M6, Altice se retrouverait avec cinq chaînes sur la TNT. En effet, TFX et 6ter rejoindrait BFMTV, RMC Story et RMC découverte. Le groupe ne sera pas libre de changer complètement la ligne éditoriale des canaux 11 et 22 ; Altice devra respecter les conventions existantes. Elles prévoient que TFX propose « un service à destination de toutes les familles » ; tandis que 6ter mise sur « une programmation généraliste et diversifiée ».
