L’ex-international ukrainien et star de l’AC Milan Andriy Shevchenko a demandé à l’Italie d’aider son pays natal, l’Ukraine, lors d’une interview chargée en émotion diffusée dimanche soir dans l’une des plus grandes émissions d’actualité du pays.
L’ancien attaquant ukrainien Shevchenko, meilleur buteur de l’histoire de sa sélection, est une des légendes de l’AC Milan pour avoir marqué plus de 170 buts pour le club de Serie A, et remporté un titre de champion ainsi que la Ligue des champions 2003.
« Ma mère, ma sœur et d’autres membres de ma famille sont toujours en Ukraine, je leur parle tous les jours. C’était leur choix de rester », a livré « Sheva ».
« Je ne peux pas regarder ce qui arrive à mon pays sans pleurer », a-t-il décrit. « Ils me disent la vérité sur ce qui se passe en Ukraine, des villes bombardées, des enfants et des personnes âgées tués. »
« Nous devons essayer de convaincre la Russie de cesser le feu, de trouver une solution diplomatique et d’arrêter cette guerre. »
Shevchenko, sélectionneur de l’Ukraine de 2016 à 2021, participait à cette émission pour promouvoir une initiative de collecte de fonds menée par la Croix-Rouge italienne dans le cadre de ses efforts humanitaires destinés à l’Ukraine.
