Le pays a fait sa rentrée sur le marché monétaire le 07 mars 2022.
Le nouveau programme d’émissions des titres de maturités longues sur le marché de la Banque des États de l’Afrique centrale (BEAC) du Cameroun est lancé. Ce programme vise à mobiliser une enveloppe totale comprise entre 110 et 150 milliards de FCFA au cours du premier semestre courant.
Pour cette émission inaugurale, qui portait sur des obligations du Trésor assimilables (OTA) à 5 ans de maturité, rémunérées à un taux d’intérêt annuel de 5,5%, le Trésor public camerounais a levé 57 milliards de FCFA. Selon la direction générale du Trésor du ministère des Finances, les investisseurs ont souscrit à cette opération à hauteur de 58,4 milliards de FCFA.
Le Cameroun va sur le marché monétaire pour collecter les 350 milliards prévus dans la loi de finances 2022. A cet effet, le trésor public prévoit un emprunt obligatoire et des Obligations de Trésor assimilables (OTA). L’emprunt obligataire portera sur 200 milliards F CFA et les obligations de Trésor assimilables (OTA) pour le reste.
