Le tout nouveau ministre de la Coopération internationale du Congo-Brazzaville, Denis Christel Sassou Nguesso, fils du président congolais, a dit mercredi vouloir impulser une coopération « qualitative » avec les partenaires étrangers du pays.
« Nous allons désormais privilégier la qualité plutôt que la quantité en étant regardant sur la nature des accords que nous signerons et en mettant un accent particulier sur le suivi et l’évaluation pour ne pas retomber dans les travers qui ont parfois, dans le passé, dénaturé la substance de certains de nos accords », a-t-il déclaré.
Denis Christel Sassou Nguesso présentait sa feuille de route aux chefs des missions diplomatiques et des organisations accrédités au Congo-Brazzaville.
C’était sa toute première sortie publique depuis sa nomination, le 15 mai dernier, au poste de ministre de la Coopération internationale et de la Promotion du partenariat public-privé, une nomination vue par beaucoup comme une étape vers la succession de son père.
« Je voudrais donner aux commissions mixtes une vraie densité et un contenu plus étoffé dans le cadre de notre coopération bilatérale, pour qu’elles ne soient plus perçues comme des messes incantatoires », a-t-il expliqué.
Denis Christel Sassou Nguesso, 46 ans, fait partie d’un gouvernement de « Palais » composé par son père qui cumule près de 37 ans de pouvoir depuis 1979.
Cette équipe est dirigée par le Premier ministre Anatole Collinet Makosso, un homme du sérail. Egalement député, le fils de M. Sassou Nguesso est dans le viseur de la justice aux Etats-Unis pour le détournement présumé de plusieurs millions de dollars des caisses de la Société nationale des pétroles du Congo (SNPC), selon l’ONG Global Witness.
La famille Sassou Nguesso fait également l’objet d’une enquête sur son patrimoine en France dans l’affaire dite des « biens mal acquis ».
