L’iPhone n’étant finalement qu’un smartphone comme un autre, on peut logiquement étendre ce conseil aux appareils concurrents, mais aussi à tous les autres produits dotés d’un écran tactile.

Pour nettoyer efficacement son iPhone sans l’endommager, Apple préconise l’utilisation « d’une lingette d’alcool isopropylique à 70%, d’une lingette d’alcool éthylique à 75% ou de lingettes désinfectantes Clorox ». La firme conseille également d’éviter « les chiffons abrasifs, serviettes, serviettes en papier » et d’utiliser « un chiffon doux et non pelucheux ».
