Un dixième de ces injections ont été faites dans les quinze derniers jours, soit juste après l’annonce de l’extension du pass sanitaire et de l’obligation vaccinale pour certaines professions par Emmanuel Macron, le 12 juillet dernier.
De Polynésie, Emmanuel Macron avait lancé ce week-end « un message très fort pour appeler chacune et chacun à se faire vacciner » pour se protéger et protéger les autres. Samedi 24 juillet, le ministre de la Santé Olivier Véran avait promis que ce cap serait franchi ce lundi. « D’ici à lundi au plus tard, nous aurons vacciné en première injection 40 millions de Français et, en deuxième injection, 30 millions de Français », avait lancé le ministre lors d’une intervention au Sénat.
Le ministre de la Santé s’était félicité samedi d’une « très grosse journée de vaccination », avec 625 000 injections réalisées, dont « une grosse moitié de primo-injections ».
Au journal de 13-heures de TF1 mercredi 21 juillet, Jean Castex expliquait que l’objectif était désormais de passer le cap « 50 millions de primo-vaccinés fin août ». « Dans les 15 jours qui viennent, on va ouvrir 5 millions de rendez-vous », avait-il également annoncé.
