Pays hôte du 27e Congrès de l’Union postale universelle (UPU) prévue du 9 au 27 août prochain au Sofitel Abidjan Hôtel Ivoire, la Côte d’Ivoire, à travers le ministère de l’Economie numérique, des Télécommunications et de l’Innovation, est à pied d’œuvre pour réussir ce grand rendez-vous attendu depuis des années.
« Le Gouvernement, à travers le Ministère de l’Economie Numérique, des Télécommunications et de l’Innovation, invite toutes les forces vives de l’administration publique ivoirienne, toutes les collectivités locales, les représentations diplomatiques accréditées en Côte d’Ivoire, les Ambassades de Côte d’Ivoire dans les 192 pays membres de l’UPU, la presse nationale et internationale, les institutions et partenaires techniques et financiers, le secteur privé national et international, à se mobiliser pour relever le défi de faire du 27ème Congrès de l’Union Postale Universelle, qui se déroulera en Afrique, et pour la première fois en Côte d’Ivoire, un succès historique », énonce une note du ministère.
Le slogan retenu pour ce congrès de l’UPU est « L’Afrique vous invite, la Côte d’Ivoire vous accueille, Abidjan vous reçoit ».
L’objectif principal de ce Congrès est de réunir la stratégie postale mondiale pour les quatre prochaines années. Pendant trois semaines, les pays membres qui y participent aborderont ensemble les questions de politique, de stratégie et de développement du secteur postal mondial.
Durant le Congrès, des discussions seront menées dans le but de définir de manière consensuelle, les règles qui régiront la gestion logistique des échanges du courrier international pour les quatre années à venir.
