À la veille du Grand Prix de Styrie, le héro de Tavullia a convoqué une conférence de presse extraordinaire pour annoncer que sa carrière en MotoGP va se terminer le 14 novembre prochain, à la fin de la dernière course de la saison (Grand Prix de Valence).
Après avoir expliqué les raisons de cet abandon, Valentino Rossi a précisé que même s’il ne pilotera plus de moto l’année prochaine, il voudra entreprendre une carrière dans le sport automobile.
“Je veux commencer une carrière avec les voitures. Je veux faire les 24 heures du Mans mais je ne sais pas quand ni dans quel championnat. On en a parlé un peu avec mon team, on en a discuté mais on n’a pas encore pris de décision”
En effet, sa passion pour les quatre roues remonte à longtemps. Entre 2002 et 2008, il participe à plusieurs étapes de WRC, aussi bien qu’à des nombreuses compétitions nationales de rallye en Italie.
