Selon la chaîne de télévision nationale tunisienne et RadioMosaiqueFM, il se trouvait dans la ville de Tébessa, à la frontière entre les deux pays, avec son frère, Ghazi Karoui lorsqu’il a été arrêté. Les deux hommes doivent comparaître lundi devant un juge avant d’être reconduits à la frontière.
Propriétaire de la chaîne tunisienne Nessma et président du parti Qalb Tounes, Nabil Karoui avait été libéré le 15 juin dernier après six mois en détention en Tunisie pour une affaire de blanchiment d’argent et d’évasion fiscale.
Il n’était pas apparu en public depuis le coup de force du Président Kaïs Saïed, en juillet, lorsque ce dernier a décidé de suspendre le Parlement et de limoger le Premier ministre, Hichem Mechichi.
