D’ailleurs en parlant d’Omicron, il est aussi là au Sénégal, depuis quelques jours. Il est partout et nous devons arrêter de nous faire peur.
Nous devons respecter les gestes barrières, nous devons continuer la vaccination, mais je crois qu’on doit arrêter de faire peur à l’humanité toute entière sur des sujets sur lesquels nous n’avons pas la pleine maitrise. »
L’isolement de l’Afrique du Sud
«Et comme l’a clairement indiqué l’Oms, isoler un pays qui a séquencé un nouveau variant et qui a fait preuve de transparence, est non seulement discriminatoire mais aussi contreproductif. Parce que c’est inciter les autres à ne pas publier les résultats réels de leurs investigations. Et c’est là le danger.
Donc il faut que nous continuions à travailler ensemble dans la solidarité. Cette pandémie qui frappe tous nos pays doit nous rassembler sur le front solidaire de la riposte au lieu d’ajouter un nouveau clivage entre pays riches et pays pauvres.»
