Une femme, âgée de 41 ans, comparaît à partir de mardi devant la Cour d’Assises du Rhône pour l’assassinat de ses deux filles.
Les corps sans vie des deux sœurs, âgées de 3 et 5 ans, avaient été retrouvés dans leur appartement situé dans la caserne de gendarmerie de Limonest, à l’ouest, où elles résidaient.

Les petites filles, qu’il avait laissées seules avec leur mère pendant deux jours, gisaient chacune dans leur lit.
Les autopsies ont révélé que les deux enfants avaient été tuées par asphyxie.
Les faits se seraient produits en deux temps: la nuit pour la première victime et le lendemain après-midi pour la seconde.
Au cours de ce week-end, ni le frère de l’accusée, ni sa belle-sœur, n’avaient rien noté de particulier en rendant visite à la mère de famille.
La quadragénaire continue de nier les faits. «La mère a été immédiatement décrite comme bipolaire, et même alcoolique, or tout cela a été complètement écarté par les expertises psychiatriques et scientifiques», soulignent les avocats de la défense.
Le verdict sera connu vendredi. L’accusée risque la réclusion criminelle à perpétuité.
