Les Lions du Sénégal participeront à la 33ème édition de la Coupe d’Afrique des nations au Cameroun (9 janvier au 6 février 2022), avec l’ambition de faire mieux que lors de la prétendante édition en Égypte où ils avaient perdu en finale devant l’Algérie (1-0). Pour permettre aux hommes d’Aliou Cissé de pouvoir réaliser un tel exploit, les autorités sénégalaises ont prévu budget global de plus de 5,2 milliards FCFA.
Après les 4,7 milliards FCFA prévus par les autorités ivoiriennes pour les Éléphants, en vue de la campagne de la Coupe d’Afrique des nations 2022 au Cameroun, l’État sénégalais a cassé sa tirelire pour mettre les Lions dans de bonnes conditions. Finaliste malheureux en 2019, l’équipe du Sénégal, aura droit à un budget global de plus de 5,2 milliards FCFA, pour aller chercher le titre continental, pour la première fois de son histoire.
Ce montant inclut tous les frais liés à la prise en charge de l’équipe nationale, mais aussi au paiement des primes de participation et autres primes de performances durant la compétition. Concernant cette 33ème édition de CAN, les parlementaires ont rappelé au ministre des Sports, Matar Ba, l’impératif de résultats face aux énormes moyens déployés par l’Etat. Une obligation pour Sadio Mané et sa bande, mais surtout à la tutelle dont la responsabilité sera fortement engagée en cas de contre-performance.
Le budget du ministère des Sports sénégalais est arrêté à plus de 43,7 milliards FCFA en autorisation d’engagements et 33,3 milliards FCFA en crédits de paiement. Le budget est réparti en trois programmes : Pilotage (2,06 milliards FCFA), Coordination (37 milliards FCFA) et Gestion Administrative (4,7 milliards FCFA).
