L’Etat reprend ses parts totales dans la Banque de l’habitat de Côte d’Ivoire, en raison, dit-il, de la « dégradation continue de la situation financière de la banque ».
Privatisée en 2018 dans le cadre du redimensionnement du portefeuille bancaire public, la BHCI n’a pu décoller. Le gouvernement ivoirien a repris la main en souhaitant l’augmentation du capital social, qui doit passer de 6,78 milliards Fcfa à 53,18 milliards Fcfa à travers une émission de 4,64 millions d’actions.
Pour le porte-parole du gouvernement, par ailleurs ministre de la Communication des Médias et de la Francophonie, Amadou Coulibaly, la mobilisation de ressources « devrait permettre de combler le déficit et d’atteindre le niveau des fonds propres requis de 10 milliards Fcfa ».
Une des nouvelles recommandations est l’orientation de la stratégie de la banque vers son cœur de métier initial, le financement de l’immobilier dans l’optique de combler le déficit de logement.
