Deux drones piégés ont visé mardi une base militaire en Irak abritant des troupes de la coalition internationale antijihadistes emmenée par Washington, a indiqué à l’AFP un responsable de la coalition, précisant que les projectiles avaient été abattus sans faire de victime. « Deux drones chargés d’explosifs ont été interceptés et détruits (…) à la base aérienne d’Al-Assad (ouest de l’Irak, ndlr) tôt ce matin », a précisé le responsable. Il s’agit de la deuxième attaque du genre en moins de 48 heures, au lendemain du deuxième anniversaire de la mort du général iranien Qassem Soleimani, tué par un tir de drone des Etats-Unis en Irak en 2020.
