Haïti a célébré sa fête nationale ce samedi 1er janvier, anniversaire de sa prise d’indépendance sur la France en 1804. Hormis les quelques officiels qui accompagnaient le chef du gouvernement, la cathédrale des Gonaïves était déserte samedi lors du traditionnel Te Deum chanté pour marquer la fête nationale. Durant la célébration religieuse, puis à la sortie des hauts fonctionnaires de l’église, de nombreuses rafales de tirs ont retenti.
