Les Nations unies ont annoncé, hier soir, l’arrivée à Rabat de Staffan de Mistura. «L’envoyé personnel du secrétaire général pour le Sahara occidental, qui entame sa première visite dans la région, a atterri aujourd’hui à Rabat», a indiqué le porte-parole d’Antonio Guterres, dans une déclaration lue au début de son point de presse quotidien du mercredi 12 janvier.
De Mistura «rencontrera d’abord des responsables marocains, à Rabat, puis des responsables du Front Polisario à Tindouf/Rabouni. Au cours de ce voyage, il prévoit également de se rendre à Alger et à Nouakchott», a précisé Stéphan Dujarric devant les journalistes.
«L’envoyé personnel attend avec intérêt d’entendre les vues de toutes les parties concernées sur la manière de progresser vers une reprise constructive du processus politique sur le Sahara occidental», a-t-il conclu.
