Douala a été le théâtre d’un forum économique organisé par la chambre de commerce britano-camerounaise pour jeter les jalons d’une nouvelle coopération bilatérale entre les deux pays et faciliter le réseautage.
Investisseurs britanniques et opérateurs économiques camerounais se sont donné rendez-vous à Douala. C’était dans le cadre du forum économique entre les deux Etats sous le label du UK-Cameroon Chamber of commerce (Chambre de commerce britano-camerounaise).
Pour le patron de cette chambre, Elias Pungong, l’objectif de la chambre de commerce est de servir de plateforme d’échange entre les hommes d’affaires de la Grande-Bretagne et ceux camerounais. Un partenariat qui est favorisé par l’accord économique avec la Grande-Bretagne qui vient d’être signé par le Cameroun.
Au menu de la rencontre, la promotion des intérêts économiques entre le Cameroun et la Grande-Bretagne. Mais également, le renforcement de la relation commerciale et les accords économiques.
Les discussions ont permis de faciliter les échanges pour présenter la destination Cameroun comme une terre propice à l’investissement britannique. Le Grande-Bretagne actuellement engagée dans des domaines liés à l’énergie renouvelable s’est vu encourager à continuer à s’implanter au Cameroun comme ils ont fait avec la société Actis auprès d’Eneo (Energy of Cameroon).
Un geste largement apprécié par les investisseurs britanniques qui ont laissé comprendre que le royaume dispose d’une expertise poussée dans ce secteur. Et le Cameroun fort de son potentielle en énergie solaire et du gaz qui sert d’énergie de transition ne peut être qu’une grande attractivité pour eux.
Le forum d’échange économique s’est également caractérisé avec une déclinaison networking. Par ailleurs, le renforcement aussi de la collaboration entre le Haut-Commissaire de Grande-Bretagne au Cameroun et la UK-Chamber of commerce.
Une aubaine pour la logique de diversification des partenaires économiques du Cameroun qui pourra ainsi disposer de plusieurs leviers. Mais surtout, mobiliser plusieurs investissements et avoir un vaste marché pour écouler ses produits et à la fin gagner une solide indépendance économique.
