Le ministère iranien des Affaires étrangères a rejeté, ce lundi, les affirmations du Maroc selon lesquelles la République islamique veut infiltrer l’Afrique et étendre l’idéologie chiite sur le continent. S’exprimant lors d’une conférence de presse hebdomadaire, le porte-parole du ministère des Affaires étrangères Saeed Khatibzadeh a déclaré que les propos du ministre marocain des Affaires étrangères sont «sans fondement», les qualifiant de «projections infondées».
La semaine dernière, Nasser Bourita a déclaré que la République islamique menaçait «la sécurité spirituelle de l’Afrique» et s’est engagé à arrêter les tentatives de l’Iran d’étendre son influence sur le continent, rappelle le média Iran International. «L’Iran prévoit d’entrer en Afrique de l’Ouest et de répandre la doctrine chiite dans la région», a-t-il déclaré.
Il a également accusé la République islamique de soutenir les Houthis du Yémen qui ciblent régulièrement l’Arabie saoudite et les Émirats arabes unis. «Le soutien du Maroc est un message clair pour dénoncer les abus des Houthis et la politique de l’Iran qui les soutient», a ajouté le chef de la diplomatie marocaine.
Le Maroc a rompu ses relations diplomatiques avec l’Iran en 2018, affirmant que le Hezbollah, soutenu par Téhéran, entraînait des combattants séparatistes du Front Polisario.
