Rayan est tombé accidentellement, mardi 1er février dans la soirée, au fond d’un puits asséché de 32 mètres de profondeur, étroit et difficile d’accès, creusé près de la résidence familiale, non loin de Bab Berred.
« Dans un moment d’inattention, le petit est tombé dans le puits que je réparais. Je n’ai pas pu fermer l’œil de la nuit », a déclaré le père de Rayan au site Le360. Les secours ont pu acheminer de l’eau et de l’oxygène par des tubes à Rayan, d’après l’agence de presse MAP. Cinq pelleteuses déployées sur place ont commencé à creuser un terrain parallèle au puits. Les travaux d’excavation ont atteint une profondeur de plus de 19 mètres.

Mobilisées depuis plus de vingt-quatre heures, les équipes de secours n’ont pas pu descendre directement dans le puits, car son diamètre ne dépasse pas 45 centimètres. L’accident a suscité l’émoi sur les réseaux sociaux.
