La ministre sénégalaise des Affaires étrangères et des Sénégalais de l’extérieur, Aissata Tall Sall, a affirmé lundi à Dakar que son pays poursuivrait les réformes de l’Union africaine (UA ), à la faveur du mandat d’un an du président Macky Sall à la tête de l’organisation continentale.
Elle a fait cette annonce lors d’une séance de restitution des conclusions des travaux du dernier Sommet des chefs d’Etats et de gouvernements de l’UA.
”Autant le temps est court, mais nous disons nous devons commencer. Il (Macky Sall, président sénégalais) commencera ce qu’il pourra commencer, il rendra ce qu’il aura commencé irréversiblement pour qu’il ne vienne à l’esprit de personne de pouvoir rétropédaler ou faire machine arrière ou penser arrêter le processus de réforme”, a -t-elle indiqué.
Selon la cheffe de la diplomatie sénégalaise, l’UA est vue ”comme une grosse machine”, qui aujourd’hui a éprouvé son système et doit passer à un ”système beaucoup plus efficace pour son mode de fonctionnement. Moins de personnel, moins de charge, plus de célérité dans la prise de décision et plus d’efficacité dans l’application de ces décisions”.
Elle a rappelé que le président du Rwanda Paul Kagame, lorsqu’il était président en exercice de l’UA, avait déjà amorcé la réforme et qu’il incombait aujourd’hui au Sénégal de ”la finir et de bien la finir”.
“La volonté et l’ambition” sont là et le” Sénégal arrivera à accomplir son mandat de façon indélébile”, a-t-elle assuré.
