Le géant des télécommunications Ericsson a financé l’organisation terroriste Daech pour pouvoir continuer de travailler en Irak, révèle une enquête publiée, dimanche, par le Consortium international des journalistes d’investigation (ICIJ).
D’après l’enquête menée par une trentaine de médias internationaux membres de l’ICIJ, « le géant des télécommunications suédois, aurait versé des millions de dollars suspects à travers des caisses noires, des voyages offerts à l’étranger, et des pots-de-vin, notamment pour pouvoir poursuivre ses activités en Irak, en dépit de la présence de Daech ».
Selon ce rapport, Ericsson génère 25 milliards de dollars de revenus annuels et emploie environ 100 000 personnes dans plus de 140 pays. Pour éviter de perdre des marchés, l’enquête révèle qu’« Ericsson aurait aussi payé des membres de l’organisation Daech à l’époque où cette dernière contrôlait une partie du nord de l’Irak ».
Les médias qui ont mené cette enquête, s’appuient sur un rapport interne d’Ericsson. Ainsi, l’enquête révèle que c’est surtout après l’invasion américaine de 2003 que l’Irak devient un des rares marchés de téléphonie mobile quasiment vierge, donc à fort potentiel. De ce fait, « les ventes d’Ericsson en Irak représentent près de 1,9 milliard de dollars entre 2011 et 2018 », explique encore le rapport.
Ericsson, à l’instar d’autres entreprises, a payé des organisations terroristes pour empêcher les attaques contre ses équipements et permettre aux employés de faire leur travail, affirme-t-on.
