Le fils du président ougandais Yoweri Museveni, le lieutenant-général Muhoozi Kainerugaba, a exprimé son soutien à Vladimir Poutine à la suite de l’invasion russe en Ukraine, rapporte la BBC.
Le général Kainerugaba – qui est le commandant des forces terrestres ougandaises affirme que la majorité de l’humanité (qui n’est pas blanche) soutient la position de la Russie en Ukraine.
« Poutine a tout à fait raison. Lorsque l’URSS a stationné des missiles nucléaires à Cuba en 1962, l’Occident était prêt à faire sauter le monde à cause de cela. Maintenant, quand l’OTAN fait la même chose, ils s’attendent à ce que la Russie agisse différemment », a-t-il tweeté.
Avec le général soudanais Mohamed Hamdan « Hemeti » Dagolo, le général Kainerugaba est le seul officier supérieur africain à soutenir publiquement l’invasion russe en Ukraine.
Selon les rumeurs il pourrait succéder à son père, au pouvoir depuis 1986.
La Communauté économique des États de l’Afrique de l’Ouest (Cedeao) a condamné l’invasion russe, tandis que l’Union africaine a appelé Moscou à respecter « l’intégrité territoriale » de l’Ukraine.
Le ministère sud-africain des Affaires étrangères a demandé le retrait des troupes russes d’Ukraine.
