Au moins dix personnes ont perdu la vie dans l’éboulement d’une mine d’or artisanale à Kounsitel dans la préfecture de Gaoul (Nord-ouest de la Guinée), a annoncé mercredi une source officielle.
« Six corps sans qui ont été extraits des lieux du drame hier ainsi que dix personnes blessées. Parmi ces blessés, un a rendu l’âme à l’hôpital préfectoral de Gaoual, ce mercredi 2 mars 2022. Trois autres corps ont été retrouvés mercredi dans la mine », a indiqué mercredi Mamadou Chérif Diallo, maire de Kounsitel cité par ‘’guineematin.com’’.
D’après la même source, l’éboulement s’est produit ce mardi, aux environs de 14 h00, dans une mine fermée, et interdite à toute exploitation. Sauf que, « les gens se sont cachés pour aller travailler clandestinement sur les lieux », explique le maire, assurant que les recherches sont en cours avec l’appui de la Croix rouge.
Les éboulements sur des sites aurifères sont fréquents et souvent meurtriers en Guinée, en particulier dans cette région proche du Mali.
