La répression des voix anti-guerre continue en Russie. Plus de 4 600 personnes qui manifestaient sans autorisation contre l’intervention militaire en Ukraine ont été arrêtées, dimanche 6 mars, dans une soixantaine de villes de Russie, selon l’ONG OVD-Info, spécialisée dans le suivi des manifestations.
Au moins 4 640 personnes ont été arrêtées dans 65 villes. Cela porte à plus de 13 000 le nombre de manifestants interpellés depuis le déclenchement de l’opération militaire russe le 24 février, d’après OVD-Info.
Malgré les intimidations des autorités et la menace de lourdes peines de prison, des actions de protestation, certes limitées, ont eu lieu quotidiennement depuis onze jours dans différentes villes du pays. L’opposant emprisonné Alexeï Navalny, qui est contre l’intervention en Ukraine, a appelé les Russes à se réunir tous les jours sur la place principale de leur ville pour réclamer la paix en Ukraine.
Quelque 1 700 personnes ont été interpellées rien qu’à Moscou dimanche, a indiqué la police. Selon OVD-Info, l’un des responsables de l’ONG Mémorial, Oleg Orlov, et la militante réputée Svetlana Gannouchkina en font partie.
Plusieurs militants et ONG ont publié, sur les réseaux sociaux, des vidéos montrant des interpellations brutales, à coups de matraque.
Les premières arrestations ont eu lieu, décalage horaire oblige, en Extrême-Orient et en Sibérie. Plus de 200 personnes ont notamment été interpellées dans les grandes villes de Novossibirsk et d’Ekaterinbourg, toujours selon OVD-Info.
Fermeture des médias
Pour dissuader toute critique, les autorités russes ont adopté, vendredi, une nouvelle loi réprimant « les informations mensongères » sur les activités de l’armée russe en Ukraine. Selon ce texte, les peines encourues vont d’amendes à 15 ans de prison.
Des médias russes et étrangers ont annoncé dans la foulée suspendre leurs activités en Russie. Ceux manifestant contre la présence militaire russe en Ukraine s’exposent aussi systématiquement à des amendes, conformément à un nouvel article du code administratif qui interdit les actions publiques « discréditant les forces armées ».
Selon l’agence de presse Ria Novosti, un habitant de Sibérie a été la première victime de cette nouvelle loi : il a été condamné à 60 000 roubles (450 euros) d’amende pour avoir appelé à manifester contre l’intervention en Ukraine.
Ces dernières années, des dizaines de manifestants ont, par ailleurs, été condamnés à de sévères peines de prison pour « violences contre la police », un motif considéré comme inventé de toute pièce par nombre d’ONG.
