La Compagnie nationale de pétrole (NOC) en Libye a annoncé dimanche la suspension de la production pétrolière de deux gisements majeurs, causant d’importantes pertes pour ce pays très dépendant de la vente d’hydrocarbures et qui connaît une grave crise politique.
La production a été stoppée après qu’un groupe armé a « fermé les vannes acheminant le brut » sur les sites d’al-Charara et al-Fil, forçant la compagnie à « déclarer l’état de force majeure », mesure qui permet une exonération de sa responsabilité en cas de non-respect des contrats de livraison, a indiqué la NOC sur Facebook.
« La fermeture des vannes de pompage engendre des pertes de 330.000 barils par jour et une perte quotidienne de plus de 160 millions de dinars libyens (environ 32 millions d’euros) », a déploré la NOC.
