Ils ont notamment menacé d’arrêter les responsables critiquant le gouvernement ou de saisir les actifs, y compris ceux relevant de la propriété intellectuelle.
Quelques heures après cette publication, l’ambassade russe aux États-Unis a démenti ces allégations, dans un communiqué publié sur sa page Facebook. «Cette publication du Wall Street Journal est une pure fiction», a écrit l’ambassade, assurant que «même dans la situation la plus difficile» les intérêts commerciaux américains ne sont pas «bafoués» sur le marché russe. «La décision de poursuivre leurs activités entrepreneuriales dans notre pays revient entièrement aux Américains», a-t-elle soutenu, en dénonçant une «hystérie russophobe».
«Contrôle strict» des entreprises étrangères
Après l’invasion de l’Ukraine, des sanctions économiques sans précédent ont été imposées par des gouvernements occidentaux et une liste grandissante d’entreprises ont annoncé leur retrait de la Russie ou la suspension de leurs activités dans le pays. Les autorités russes ont multiplié les mesures pour éviter les fuites de capitaux et soutenir le rouble. Sans aller jusqu’à prononcer le mot «nationalisation», Vladimir Poutine s’est dit pour la nomination d’administrateurs «externes» à la tête de ces entreprises «pour les transférer à ceux qui veulent les faire fonctionner».
Le parquet russe a aussi ordonné vendredi un «contrôle strict» des entreprises étrangères annonçant la suspension de leurs activités. Il a prévenu qu’il surveillerait notamment le respect de la législation du travail, sous peine de poursuites pénales. Face aux menaces directes, au moins une entreprise a décidé de limiter les communications avec ses employés en Russie de peur que les e-mails et textos soient interceptés tandis que d’autres ont évacué des responsables, affirme le Wall Street Journal.
